I have spent more than half my life in and all around athletic competition, human performance and sports rehabilitation.
It really began for me racing mountain bikes on the NORBA circuit in the mid-90’s. This led to a spot on a Team Pedro’s Junior team, and I kept gunning hard. When the snow started flying, I would turn my attention to Alpine and Nordic racing, and when the snow melted I enjoyed some success on the track. If there was a race, or a chance to line up, I was there. Any discipline, any reason, any season. I loved the training, the nutrition, the science, the competition and the challenge. All these years later and I’m still at it for certain, with my energies largely focused on off-road cycling disciplines.
Like a lot of folks, I eventually headed off to college, ultimately earning a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences and a Master’s in Physical Therapy. I became a credentialed NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2001, and a licensed Physical Therapist in 2002. I then spent the better part of the last two decades working with one of the top-rated Sports Orthopaedics and Surgical practices in the nation, while continuing with private client athletes and serving as a professional consultant and educator in the rehab industry.
In the last couple years I have made some changes that allow me a new world of resources and opportunities to focus on family, my own ongoing athletic pursuits, and offering expanded coaching opportunities to other athletes.
As a coach I draw upon and offer a unique level of encompassing expertise, providing my athletes something much, much more than the all-too-typical “Here’s your plan…send me your power data…” approach. I am offering athletes a truly integrative coaching approach that I won’t try to detail here further…let’s have a good discussion, no cost, no obligation. I want to know where you’re coming from, where you want to go (and why), and what we can accomplish together.
Over the years I have worked with athletes from novice to professional, across about every imaginable discipline, and through the life-span…and I very much look forward to working with you as well. I know how to help you understand and achieve your goals. I know how to help you get the results you want. We’ll get started by working with what you’ve got…starting right “here”, identifying your opportunities, respecting your resources, and leveraging your strengths. I very much look forward to hearing from you.
